Bands Needed

We’re always looking for new talent! If you know of a band, duo, or solo act willing to donate an evening of their time, please let us know. We also provide backup music for solo performers if needed.

Board Meeting Minutes – May 2025

The meeting was opened by President Larry Meyer at 5:35 PM.
Board Members Present: Addie Idler, Treasurer Grace Kubik, Vice President/Secretary Kirk Kubik, and President Larry Meyer.

  • Secretary’s Report: Read and accepted. Motion by Larry Meyer, seconded by Addie Idler.
  • Treasurer’s Report:
    • General Fund: $2,996
    • Building Fund: $6,331.71
      Motion to accept by Larry Meyer, seconded by Addie Idler.

Old Business

  • 50th Anniversary Celebration:
    • Discussed using the Cass County Fairgrounds.
    • Contacts: Denise Horn and Meggan Roeber.
    • Rental costs:
      • Saturday: $1,000
      • Sunday: $500
      • Open Air Theater: $375
    • Fairgrounds board meetings are the second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM.

New Business

  • Donation Increase:
    • Motion by Grace to raise door donations from $5 to $7 due to rising costs.
    • Vote passed unanimously.
    • The new donation amount starts with the first show in June.
  • Pie Auctions:
    • Discussed holding pie auctions at each show, but no decision has been made yet.

The meeting was adjourned by Larry Meyer at 6:20 PM.


June 2025 Entertainment

  • Saturday, June 7: The Ragtag Rascals (7:30 – 10:00 PM)
    • Raffle at 8:45 PM.
  • Sunday, June 8: Electric Jam Session (1:00 – 4:00 PM)
    • Bring your instruments and voices or just come to listen!
  • Saturday, June 21: The Jacob Austin Band (7:00 – 10:30 PM)
    • On tour from Texas—come enjoy their music!
  • Sunday, June 29: Acoustic Jam Session (1:00 – 4:00 PM)
    • Bring your flat-top guitars or other acoustic instruments for a relaxed afternoon of music.

2025 Dues Reminder

Annual dues are due by June 31, 2025:

  • $10 for single memberships
  • $12 for family memberships

Bluegrass Jam

Join a bluegrass, country, and old-time music jam at the Missouri Valley Public Library on the last Saturday of each month (April–September).

  • Time: 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM
  • Acoustic instruments only
  • Bring an instrument or come to listen!

Artist of the Month – Jerry Reed

Jerry Reed Hubbard was born in March 1937 and passed away in September 2008 at the age of 71. A talented guitarist, singer, songwriter, and actor, he signed with a publisher and record producer at just 18 years old. His first record was “If the Good Lord’s Willin’ and the Creek Don’t Rise.”

Jerry Reed’s music helped bring country music to a wider audience, and he leaves behind a legacy of memorable hits.
