About Us

BRINGING ECHOES OF COUNTRY MUSIC'S PAST BACK TO LIFE

Established in 1976, our historic venue began as a movie theater, and its basement once housed a small pool table hall. From old Westerns on the screen to now singing old tunes from the same era, we are a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the rich traditions of country music.

Our stage, once a home to many film reels, now hosts live performances, offering exposure to both seasoned and emerging musicians. As stewards of musical history, we celebrate our roots, inviting you to join us on a journey through the heartland of authentic country sounds.

CLASSIC, AUTHENTIC, COUNTRY.

Certified Authentic

In line with our dedication to classic country, we ask performers to bring alive tunes that have weathered the years — cover songs must be at least three decades old. Feel the history, hear the stories, and enjoy timeless sounds that have shaped the country music landscape.

Support Local

As a non-profit, we proudly support local talent and initiatives, offering musicians exposure and collaborating with Guitars for Vets to mentor veterans in music.

All Talent Welcome!

Embrace musical diversity on our stage—while our mission is preserving the sounds of classic country, we welcome talent of all levels, providing a platform for a rich tapestry of musical expressions.

Affordable Entertainment

As a non-profit organization, we’re able to keep costs down and offer a budget-friendly entertainment option to our community, where we suggest donating $5 at the door for an unforgettable evening of live music.

Terry Smith Tribute Show

Show Details

As many of you know, Terry Smith from Nashville performed at our theater in October 2024. Sadly, in late January 2025, Terry passed away.

In early February, it was decided that the theater would host a tribute show in his honor. This event is being made possible thanks to Fred and Dorthy Techau of Silver City, Iowa, who stepped forward and offered to organize the show.

Fred and Dorthy have been longtime supporters of the theater, dedicating their time and efforts to keeping live country music alive in our community. Their contributions—both past and present—are deeply appreciated by all of us.

Next time you see them, be sure to thank them for everything they’ve done.

On behalf of the theater and as president of the club—thank you, Fred and Dorthy, for your dedication and generosity.

Hope to see you there..

PS. They will also be here on Aug 16th. So if you miss the first show you will get a second chance.

We’re excited to welcome back New Bow Old Strings—the talented duo of Cora Bonwell and Al Koenig—on Friday, July 26!

Cora and Al put on a fantastic show here at the theater on March 22, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained with their unique mix of instruments and musical styles.

Here’s what folks had to say about their last performance:

“They are very entertaining!”
“Never heard that song before, but I really liked it.”

If you missed them the first time, now’s your chance! They’re sure to get you up on your feet to dance, and we hope to see a great crowd out to support these incredible musicians.

Don’t miss it—mark your calendar for July 26 at the Cornhusker Country Music Theater!
