Secretary’s Report
December 18, 2024
Vice President Kirk Kubic brought the meeting to order in the absence of President Rick Stephens.
Treasurer Larry Meyer made a motion to hold acoustic jam sessions on the 4th Sunday of Every month to accommodate those who do not wish to participate in the regular jam sessions on the 2nd Sunday of the month with amplified instruments.
The motion was voted on and passed by all officers present.
The first acoustic jam will begin on February 25th, 2024.
Addie Idler, board member, is going to contact Humanities Nebraska for a Grant. Our roof needs replacing in the near future and a grant is the only option to procure enough funds for this replacement
Larry is going to check dates of other activities surrounding a possible date for our next festival in 2024.
Kirk Kubic made a motion to control the sound in the theater with a decibel meter during jam sessions and performances.
The motion was voted on and passed by all officers present.
Kirk will purchase a meter for this purpose.
Kirk made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Larry seconded the motion.
End of Secretary’s report. By Addie Idler
We ask that all musicians comply with this ruling, and we will control the sound level of the Public Address System..
We want to make the music experience in the theater enjoyable for everyone as we have had numerous complaints about the music being too loud.
We hope this is a suitable solution for everyone.
Bands Needed
As Always we are looking for bands to perform at the Theater
If anyone knows of any bands that would like to donate an evening of their time to come and put on a show, then please encourage them to do so.. just remind them that we are non profit and it is unlawful for us to pay them to play for a wage.
We also welcome duet acts, and solo acts.. If they wish we can try and provide back up music for anyone that wishes to come and put on a show..
This is something that is ongoing with the Theater.. Bands will always be needed.. so if you know of a band or hear of a Band, Get our contact information to them so they can be recruited for our shows.. Thank You.
Artist of the month
Paul Overstreet
Paul Overstreet has won 2 Grammy awards in the country music genre as a singer and a song writer. He has also written songs for 6 other artists in the country music field.
In addition he has written many top ten hits for himself.
His first album produced 3 number one hits. From SKO (Skyler Knobloc and Overstreet.)
His first project on his own on the album “Sowin Love” produced 5 singles that were top ten hits
Some of his subsequent albums have done like wise.
In his Early Career he had dreams of being a songwriter and singer. Eventually Those dreams turned into reality for him and now he enjoys the life that he worked so hard to get.
Much deserving for him as it is for many artists who have come up the same way.
He never gave up on his dreams until he got what he wanted.
Kudos to you Paul Overstreet.
Keep up the good work.
To find more info and see some of the songs he has written and cowritten go to.
Come out and enjoy the upcoming jam sessions in January.
Bring a friend or as many friends as you like
If you play an instrument come join us on stage
If you prefer to sing only, then come join us anyway.
If you wish to only sit and listen, bring your ears and hear what the artists sing and play about.
Enjoy the New Years Holiday and everyone please be safe.
Till Next time.
